Ophelia?  Was my personal way to react to the famous painting by John Everett Millais, which in its turn was a rendition of the famous character by Shakespeare.

In this video installation I wanted to fight the pattern of expectation of the passive woman lying in the water by giving an unexpected twist to it.

The installation shows in one channel the descent to the underwater world, in another the fight to stay there and on the third channel the woman on the surface, filmed from bellow.

The dimensions of the projections give the viewers a feeling of being underwater themselves.
